New UK immigration rules to affect manufacturing industry

The New UK immigration rules introduced by the Government will impact the industries that pay salary less than 35000 Euros. The foreign nationals working in UK industries below the new threshold will have to search other options to continue to stay in the United Kingdom.

However, industry bodies have sharply criticized the move by the Government and termed it as harmful to the manufacturing sector. Critics considered the move as a hindrance to the progress of the economy.

The Government firmly reiterates its stand by saying that the £35K cap is not applicable to the categories of skill shortages list and the researchers. However, this move badly affects the engineering stream, where the 29 percent of the firms rely on the skills of the international professionals.

To curb the migration into the UK, the Government has to take measures to control illegal flow, rather than useful talent that help the United Kingdom economy.
