IRCC issues 3,750 ITAs to candidates with minimum CRS scores of 440
On August 8th, 2018 the 96th federal Express Entry Draw was held. It invited 3,750 for applying to the Canadian PR. The candidates had to score just 440 in the Comprehensive Ranking System.
It was for the second time this year that IRCC reduced the minimum cut-off score to 440 for a draw involving all programs in 2018.
The date and time of tie-break in this draw was Jan 31st, 2018, at 00:06:40 UTC. Thus all candidates having a CRS score that is 440, or above and who submitted their profile prior to the specific date and time, were in a position to receive an ITA in this round.
This draw also continues the pattern to issue 3,750 Invitations for applying which began on June 13th. Presently, it is the high point of a trend of this year where the draw size is steadily increasing in numbers 250/500. In The beginning of the year there were two draws inviting 2,750 candidates each in January. This was, followed by four draws for 3,000 candidates in Feb and March. Subsequently there were four draws of 3,500 ITAs in April and May.
So far IRCC has issued 50,950 ITAs in 2018 totally. Presently it is only 335 ITAs short of the total of 2017(51,285). Furthermore, totally 86,023 ITAs were issued in 2017.
Canada has an impressive admission target for the present year as well as for 2019. It can surpass the ITA’s issued in 2017.
The increase in the size of the draw above 3,750 is a point of observation. If IRCC has large and more frequent draws, the result could be a reduction of the present cut-off CRS score.
Moreover when we see a combination of large draws, a very low starting point and high admissions targets more interesting results can take place in the future draws.
Canada uses the Express Entry application system to manage the pool of candidates for its economic immigration classes. These are the Federal Skilled Trades Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Class, and the Canadian Experience Class. The candidates who score high ranks in the EE pool receive an ITA in the regular rounds.
A Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree, work as software developer, scoring 8 in each category in the IELTS language test, are good grounds to obtain an ITA during in these draws. This ensures a good future to them in the country.
