Manitoba Invites Close to 600 Candidates to Apply for Immigration

Close to 600 candidates received an Invitation to apply in the recent draw held on June 21st, 2018 for immigration to Manitoba. Moreover in it 592 candidates received an Invitation to apply in four Manitoba streams.

114 candidates received an Invitation for the Express Entry Pathway of the province. It is a part of the Skilled Workers Overseas stream. The candidate with the least rank had a score of 562 points.  Furthermore, Manitoba Immigration has a target to attract more than 100 In-Demand Skilled Workers.

Strategic Recruitment Initiative

115 candidates got the approval in the Strategic Recruitment Initiative. This also is a part of the SWO, and the lowest score here was 703 points. In the SRI a set of candidates get the invitation  to apply to fill up a specific need of the labor market.

150 candidates got the approval in the SWO Human Capital Pathway. Their minimum score was 579 points and they had the features like:

  • Having a close relative past education/work experience in the province,
  • Having six months of recent experience in an in-demand occupation,
  • Meeting minimum language requirements

213 candidates got these invitations, having a lowest score of 522 points, under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream.

It was the 46th draw for immigration to the province, which has moved away from the trends in the past and has a fresh look in 2018. In 2017, its draws had a domination of the S.W.M. stream, but in the present year, the majority of overseas invitations, are in the SWO stream.

Details of May 31 draw

201 In the previous draw, of May 31 2018, a total of 504 candidates got the ITAs in three streams.

In it, 262 candidates got the invitation for the SWO Human Capital Pathway. The least score here was 584.  Moreover, 55 candidates received them as a part of an SWO Strategic Recruitment Initiative, with the lowest score of 698 points. 187 candidates got the invitations in the SWM stream, with the least score of 485 points.

Qualifying For the Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream

The Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream suits the specific needs of employers in Manitoba. SWM selects workers who get the training overseas. Additionally, they possess necessary skills and get the nomination for Canadian permanent residence. The stream gives a priority to such candidates who have a strong attachment to Manitoba, and also has two pathways to immigration.

a) Manitoba Work Experience Pathway

It is significant for applicants presently working in the province on temporary work permits, in the Temporary Foreign Worker Program. Another category is as international graduates from any province. Furthermore, Candidates need not work in In-Demand Occupations.

b) Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway

It is significant for overseas applicants with job offers from employers approved by Manitoba.

Qualifying For the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream

The Skilled Worker Overseas Stream has a Canada Express Entry Pathway and also a direct provincial pathway.

It aims to attract international skilled workers possessing necessary skills and training in the In-Demand Occupations. It gives Priority to applicants/spouses who have a close family connection, language proficiency, besides training and experience in finding jobs quickly.

a) Manitoba Express Entry Pathway

It is significant for global candidates eligible in another MPNP stream, who also meet EE criteria and place their active profile in Express Entry. Candidates require skills, experience and training in an In-Demand Occupation, and also a strong family connection to the province.

b) Human Capital Pathway

It is significant for international skilled workers having skills, experience and training in an In-Demand Occupation. Candidates need to show a potential to find employment soon after arriving in Manitoba.
