After China’s ambassador to the UK taking on the latter for implementing stringent visa rules, the United Kingdom is apparently gearing up for relaxing visa rules for Chinese citizens. Rumors are rife that Britain prime minister David Cameron is most likely to make an announcement with regards to the same in a short while from now. It is known that Chinese premier, Li Keqiang is scheduled to arrive in London tomorrow to hold talks with the British Government over bilateral ties and rigid immigration rules for Chinese nationals. The sources said that Chinese premier’s sudden visit could also be one of the reasons behind the circulation of speculations. However, UK has been tightlipped on the issue so far. Meanwhile, in an interview to the Telegraph daily, Keqiang expressed his inconvenience over the stringent visa rules that prevent Chinese tourists to the UK. He has also mentioned, the UK is likely to take a decision on this matter. If the UK relaxes the immigration rules for Chinese nationals, the latter wouldn’t have to apply for a UK visa when they apply for a visa to the European Union. We would follow more on this.
