In a bid to loosen the efforts of Vietnam tourists applying for Sweden visas, the Swedish embassy in Vietnam has opened up a new visa application centre in Hanoi of Vietnam with the help of outsourcing major VFS Global. After a crucial meeting held today at Hanoi, Sweden ambassador Camilla Mellander and VFS director Alton Noronha have shaken hands before the media as a sign that they entered into the agreement. Later, the Swedish embassy has rolled out a press statement which confirmed that visa applications centres would be set up at two places on June 17 and 24 respectively. It also mentioned that applicant visas would be issued within 15 days. Further, the sources close to VFS have told us that VFS office at Hanoi would reportedly handle email and telephone enquiries regarding visa to Sweden. The immigration experts look at the new development as an initiative to boost the Swedish tourism.
