India’s visa on arrival scheme has revealed a rise of 98.9% in June 2014. The nation currently extends this facility to 12 countries. The major share of this scheme has attracted travelers from Japan, South Korea and Singapore, majority of them travelling to India on business. In June 2014, more than 2,000 travelers have availed this scheme Arun Jaitley, Finance minister of India, has announced the initiation of Electronic Travel Authorization (e-visa) at nine airports in India by the year end to further support visa on arrival facility. Foreign travelers visiting India will be able to avail e-visa online in less than five days of filing the application, which has to be presented in India to make sure that the passage into the country is safe. India welcomes seven million foreign visitors each year and holds 41 st rank in terms of inbound tourism .The nation aims to attract 12 million overseas tourists in the coming three to five years. To meet this purpose, e-visa facility is likely to provide support.
