Details On August 2nd, Quebec will introduce several changes to its immigration system. This is based on a tweet of its Immigration Minister. An anticipated change is the introduction of a system similar to Express Entry. This will manage applications and clear the application in a fast manner. New Rules Take Effect August 2nd Earlier during the year, Quebec had announced a series of proposed changes in the immigration system. Moreover, for taking effect, these changes first needed the approval of the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Diversité et de l’Inclusion (MIDI). In July, MIDI accepted these changes, officially and also announced their taking effect on August 2nd, 2018. This will reduce the processing time for 31,000 immigrants, from the present 32 months down to 12 months. The QSW program will have new guidelines, and the program now requires that the candidates must submit an Expression of Interest similar to the Express Entry. Candidates who have a desirable EOI will receive the invitation for submitting applications for the CSQ. In case subsequent to 12-months, the EOI of a person is not selected, it becomes invalid and faces removal from the candidate pool. Presently, the Quebec Skilled Worker program uses a points-grid for assessing all candidates. A candidate gets certain a certain points after the consideration of age, work experience, and education. Only the aspirants meeting programmed minimum points are eligible for submitting an application to the program. Quebec Business Immigration The Business Classes of immigration will also feel the impact of the future changes.
