On May 18th the new Business Investor Stream of Manitoba was opened to receive expressions of interest.
This Stream permits Manitoba in recruiting and nominating qualified entrepreneurs and business investors. They need to possess the intention and the ability to start a business or purchase it in the province. Additionally, the previous business stream stands replaced by the Business Investor Stream after renewing and restructuring the immigrant nominee program of Manitoba.
The overhauled BIS has two paths for interested overseas investors they being The Entrepreneur Pathway and The Farm Investor Pathway. The former permits Manitoba in recruiting and nominating qualified foreign business professionals who are interested and also have the financial capacity to shift to the province. They can establish or purchase a business, or just go for a partnership with a business that exists in Manitoba.
Business Investor Stream:
The Farm Investor Pathway is the replacement of the previous Farm Strategic Recruitment Initiative. It permits overseas investors who have the experience in farm business and also have adequate capital to establish/operate a farm here.
Both the paths have a connection to the Expression of Interest and the applicants need to initially create an online profile in the Program.
The profiles of qualified candidates remain in the EOI pool along with other candidates. They get a score depending on the answers of the candidates. Furthermore they get a ranked as per the points total in the unique Adaptability Assessment Matrix. The candidates getting the high scores receive an invitation to apply to the Business Investor Stream through the Letter of Advice to Apply. After receiving it, candidates get 60 days for submitting the completed application to the Government of Manitoba.
